MATT BENTLEY is an Associate Attorney in the firm’s Civil Litigation Department, where he focuses his practice on the representation of clients engaged in acquiring and maintaining real property, banking litigation, eminent domain, land use matters, business transactions, and commercial real estate.
Mr. Bentley graduated from Emory Law School, and completed Emory’s Business Transactional Law program. While attending Emory Law, Mr. Bentley had the opportunity to serve as an Appellate Clerk for current Supreme Court Justice, Michael Boggs. He is currently licensed to practice before the Georgia Supreme Court, Georgia Appellate Court, and all Superior and State Courts in Georgia.
Matt Bentley won the Republican Nomination for Georgia State House District 40 in 2018, which includes portions of Fulton County, Smyrna, Vinings, Mableton and Oakdale. He hopes to become District 40's State Representative in the general election to be held on November 6, 2018. Mr. Bentley has served as a Precinct Chairman for the Cobb County Republican Party, and as a Delegate to both the Cobb County and State of Georgia Conventions. Mr. Bentley’s LLC is a member of the Cobb Chamber of Commerce, and Mr. Bentley is a member of the Cobb County Bar Association.
Mr. Bentley was raised in Vinings and now lives in Smyrna with his beautiful wife, Kelsey, and their two rescue dogs, Lilly and Molly. Matt and his wife are members of the Church of the Apostles, and are active in the community including volunteering for Keep Smyrna Beautiful. Matt and Kelsey "adopted a mile" of Concord Road from Atlanta Road to South Cobb Drive to keep Smyrna beautiful and give back to their community. Matt and Kelsey had their first daughter, Beckett Sloane, on March 15, 2018.
